Seymour Mace's surreal free form stand up takes the audience on a slightly off-beat flight
of fancy, with his childlike and often childish explorations into relationships and naive
investigations into why things are. Follow the hilarity into his charmed mind to see through
his eyes... life, the universe and bears!
Seymour has extensive acting and performing experience and has worked for the Natural Theatre
Company as a street performer on various international projects.
After a relatively short time gigging, Seymour has exploded onto the comedy scene. On his first
attempt at stand up comedy, he won the Newcastle Comedy Festival 2000 prestigious award for
new comedy talent - The Big Grin.
"My first performance was from behind a brown and beige seventies armchair and featured the
acting talents of Horsey, an orange cloth and wool horses head. I don?t remember the finer
points of the performance but I do remember everyone laughing."
He was the winner of the Newcastle Comedy Festival Big Grin Award 2000, winner of the
Cup-A-Soup Challenge 2001, finalist in Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny 2001
and semiifinalist in the BBC New Act Competition 2002.
"Breathtaking... a surreal performance, he had the audience in the palm of his hand from start
to finish." - Evening Chronicle
"Sharp, surreal set." - Leicester Mercury
"Gangling idiot savant." - Newcastle Evening Chronicle
"After wowing the judges the future looks bright for Seymour Mace." - The Shields Gazette
