Colin did his first stand-up comedy gig in May 2005 and in July 05 won the hotly contested Jimmy Carr Comedy Idol Competition, winning a support slot at Bloomsbury Theatre, a part on Jimmy Carr's new DVD and a couple of TV appearances doing sketches with Jimmy.
Since then Colin has had a number of small tv parts, including Sharron Horgan's sitcom Angelos, various Jimmy Carr sketches and was "Popcorn man" in Sky One film show Popcorn.
On radio, Colin had a weekly Saturday morning slot providing comical irreverence to a morning coffee and chat type show on his local station BBC Radio South for over a year, and in 2006 was recorded by BBC Radio 7 at the Brighton Comedy Festival.
Colin was a finalist in the Hackney Empire New Act Of The Year Show and appeared in the Big Value Comedy Show Edinburgh 2006. He has done live work with the Mighty Boosh guys, including performing at their Boosh Festival in 2008 and as well as running his own comedy night at The Orange Rooms in Southampton, Colin is now gigging regularly at most of the comedy clubs throughout the UK.
Described as 'laconic and charming', Colin talks about his failings, inadequacies, mistakes and general stupidity, all tinged with an air of paranoia and insecurity but delivered with supreme confidence and sexual edginess! Sounds like a proper mish-mash, but is charming and funny.
"A comedian whose star is set to shine brightly." - The Guardian

"Big voiced Colin Owens, a good storyteller of his own life ? he clearly had the ability to grab and keep the attention of an audience." - Chortle
"Really good material." - Big Value Edinburgh Review - Three weeks Aug 2006
